4 days 4 dives $995
This class teaches the proper techniques to competently utilize air for dives up to 55 metres/180 feet that require staged decompression, using nitrox mixtures or oxygen during decompression.
This course is for the certified Advanced Nitrox/Decompression Procedures diver that needs to extend their depth range, or is looking for the next step in technical dive training.
Course prerequisites:
Advanced Nitrox diver and Decompression Procedures diver with 100 logged dives (25 of which must be deeper than 30m/100ft), minimum age 18
What will I learn?
Over a minimum of 4 dives and several theory sessions you’ll cover
- History of deep air diving
- Physics and physiology
- Decompression Options – air, nitrox and or oxygen
- Decompression dive planning
- Decompression diving procedures – including predive checks and drills; team awareness and communication, following a decompression schedule; gas switching; SMB deployment
- Proper trim, buoyancy and finning techniques
- Management of multiple decompression/stage cylinders
- Emergency procedures - equipment failures, catastrophic gas loss, omitted decompression, navigational errors, injured/unconscious diver
